The list of supporters includes several well known supporters of the Internet in Egypt, many of whom I have had the blessing of meeting in person. In fact, Manal Ismail and I spoke only yesterday about the benefit this rejuvenation of the chapter was going to bring to the Internet community in Egypt and I was absolutely thrilled about it. Furthermore, I am happy to see, among the list of supporters, the director of IT Sector from Nile University. As you know, ISOC England entertains a special relationship with Nile University since its IPv6Matrix.org IPv6 tracking project was designed and conceived by research assistants and faculty members at the Center for Informatics Science at Nile University, our project coordinator being my good friend Dr. Moustafa Ghanem. I therefore am delighted about these news, and wish every success to the rejuvenated chapter. The crawler is still running non-stop and collecting data. At the moment, it has recorded 60 Gb of information in ASCII text mode, which is a lot of information. The current Web site interface, however, does not do the crawler justice. It was meant to be a temporary set of displays, designed by researchers at Nile University in Cairo, but then the revolution took place and development of the interface was stopped. We are currently in advanced talks to have work start again, but as you may know, things take time in Egypt, now more than ever before, so I want to given them the chance to get to work, if only to help the University have research projects. In the meantime, the crawler, based in the UK, is still collecting information and monitoring the Internet 24h a day. I think we'll need some serious analysis done on all results soon. As for LU disappearing from the Map, it's often better to look at the actual results themselves. As I've mentioned, the mapping is not that stable & great at the moment.
